Landako Gunea Exhibition Centre

Landako Gunea is an exhibition centre where a host of recreational activities take place, including public shows. The most important is the annual Durangoko Azoka.

It was opened in 2003 and is the venue for fairs, cultural and gastronomic festivals, concerts, exhibitions, sporting events, etc.

It is of open-plan design, without columns, versatile with modern facilities, secure parking, and can provide a wide range  of services to suit the needs of the clients, which makes it suitable for all types of events. It receives more than 50,000 visitors annually.

Adjacent to Landako Gunea we have the ELKARTEGI, a well-equipped conference centre.

Between the two buildings a tall brick chimney can be seen. This is all that remains of an old foundry, Fundicion Olma (1920).

On the grassed area we see a sculpture, "Seetor, aintzinaren etxea" from 2005. Popularly known as "La Txapela" (the traditional black Basque beret), it is the work of Imanol Marrodan (1964).

It is a variation on another project, "Seetor, la puerta del lago", created in 2002 for the city of Dresden, a city that also suffered horrendous bombing during the Second World War.
