The 31^st of  March 1937 left an indelible mark on the history of Durango. As is the case of other towns, such as Gernika, Durango was subject to bombing raids, despite the fact that it was not of strategic importance, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians.

The aims of this programme are to raise awareness of these historic facts, to offer recognition to the victims of these fateful acts, to keep the historic memory alive and pave the way for future harmony and reconciliation.
